AWS EC2 Web Server with Nginx and Firewall Hardening
Personal Lab
- Deployed an Ubuntu EC2 instance on AWS and configured Nginx to host a public-facing web server.
- Hardened remote access using SSH key-based authentication, disabling password login and restricting inbound traffic via security groups and
ufw.
- Troubleshot connectivity issues caused by misaligned firewall rules and verified configuration persisted across reboots.
Cisco Packet Tracer – Small Office Network Simulation
Personal Lab
- Designed a small office network topology including switches, a router, PCs, and a wireless segment.
- Configured addressing, default gateways, and basic routing to enable end-to-end connectivity.
- Used testing tools (ping, traceroute) and troubleshooting steps to validate the design and fix misconfigurations.
Infrastructure
This site is hosted on a self-managed AWS EC2 instance running Linux. Traffic is served through
NGINX as a reverse proxy to a Dockerized FastAPI application on localhost.
